Standups are a crucial part of the agile process, but keeping these quick meetings running smoothly can be a challenge.

In this latest installment of Food for Thought, Lead Project Manager Marta Chell explains the role of the standup meeting and offers a few tips for making your standups more efficient for everyone involved.

Give it a watch and then tell us how you plan to make your standups more efficient in the comments below!

The Highlights:

Standups are 5-10 minute daily meetings, attended by everyone on a project team.

Each individual should come prepared to discuss:

  • What did you work on yesterday?
  • What will you work on today?
  • What are your blockers?
  • Is there something that needs to be discussed outside of the meeting? (aka parking lot items)

When put to use correctly, standups lead to better products and happier clients.
